    Being a real estate agent, my clients that are moving out of the area and moving to a new city will ask me if I know of any, or can help them find an agent in the city they’re moving to. I always feel honored that my clients trust me and ask me for help.

    Many agents that don’t have a relationship with an agent in the other city may hand off the task to their office manager. Agents that are part of a real estate franchise or have a special real estate designation (such as GRI), may contact the person that manages the real estate office of the same franchise in the city and ask them to assist in selecting an agent. Many times, the “referring” agent may have specific requests such as requesting an agent that has reached a particular production level (sells 5 million dollars of real estate per year) or has “X” number of years of experience.

    Here are the “secret” tips that I personally use to help my clients find great agents in the cities they’re relocating to:

    1. I ask which city they’re moving to and the price range of home they’re interested in purchasing.
    2. From here, I go to my computer and type DexKnows.com into the web browser.
    3. Next to the “What” category, I type-in “real estate” and next to the “Where” category, I type-in the city and state that my client is moving to and then select “Find“.
    4. By default, the results will be sorted by “Relevance“. Many times the default is fine. However, depending on the results, sometimes to the right of “Sorted by” (in the top part of the page), I’ll select “Distance” instead.
    5. Here’s where it can get tricky and time-consuming. Next, click on the results that look like local real estate firms. I normally skip over results that have headings such as “appraisers”, “rentals”, etc. since I am specifically looking for good real estate firms that specialize in SALES.
    6. I then click on the real estate firms of interest and
